Flash Fiction 55.....

'Mommy, why can't we have McDonalds or KFC?'

"Sweetie, when you were little, I got food poisoning from eating
Gung Bo Gai at that Chinese place in the Mall, and I promised God
that if he'd make me stop puking we'd become vegetarians."

'But Mom, we don't even go to church...I want a WHOPPER!!!!!!!!'

Hi Everybody, It's been a long time since I wrote a 55 when I wasn't the Host..

I want a Whopper, too! It doesn't do any good to flame broil a head of lettuce!

Thanks for playing, G Man. You rock the mitten! ;-)

Wow, Mr. G.! I've come back at a terrible time! I remember how embracing you were when I first said hello...I hadn't realized how committed you were to "Flash Fiction 55..." I never had the chance as I'd taken over the role of caregiver to my ailing parents about 4 years ago. My mother had passed last January and my 86-year-old father has dementia.

Good luck in all you do! You've brought and created many hours of fun!

Here's to doing nothing! Petra :))

This brought back a painful memory...the first time I ate McD's and got seriously ill afterwards. The doctor's office was flooded with people adjusting to a whole new level of fake in food. I guess the population adjusted. :)

There really is something about a Whopper, isn't there? Except if I have to eat fast food I prefer McDonalds. Give me a Big Mac.

I don't want a whopper or church thank you...

Hi G-Man, we do not have Whoppers here but we have Big Macs and other European equivalents.

Ha! This is such a portrait of sensitivity to others and tolerance, G. I commend you, and assume you would never wave a Whopper under that kid's nose whilst he was forced to eat salad for lunch by his cruel parent.

Oh, btw, have a kick-ass weekend.

Flame broiled lettuce, ha ha. I'm a subway gal … or actually a Panera Bread if I have the time. The southern fast food chain "Chick-Filet" I can't stand.

The only reason my 6 year old wants McD's is because he got spy kid toys once… ;P

Whoppers aren't as good as they used to be. Or maybe I just need to eat one at two in the morning after closing the bar. Oh, right....don't do that any more! Good one G-Man!!

Once this lousy cold/flu thing goes away and I can actually taste things again, I am looking forward to the joy of cheeseburgers.
And I hear Subway has a "Kung Pao BBQ" Pulled Pork sub for a limited time.
