Lums was a chain that popped up during the late 60's and early 70 that were famous for Hot Dogs Steamed in Beer with Sherry Flavored Sourkraut. They also had the best fried Clams. The ice cold draft beer always came in Frosted Mugs. It was fantastic, I don't know why they went away.

Only you, G-man, could write a poignant haiku about dogs and kraut. My hat is off to ya.

I keep saying I am going to participate in one of your challenges BUT haiku isn't it. I have never been good at haiku. :)
Loved this a lot...a 55 would make them salivate some more.
Lovely reminiscences!!
Lum's sounds awesome!
I read that sign as "steamed beer" and went wtf??
I do miss a lot of the local places that have been run out by fast food & chains!
