Musical Monday....

.
Pink Floyd used to be called The Tea Set,
before calling themselves The Pink Floyd Sound.
Named after two Piedmont Bluesmen Pink Anderson
and Floyd Council!
.
All of Pink Floyds founding members except for
Syd Barret, met while studying architecture at
London's Regent Polytechnic Institute in 1964!!
.
On The Dark Side of the Moon's "Brain Damage",
Pink Floyd's road manager Peter Watts (Actress
Naomi Watts father), did the weird background
laughter.
.
When the MGM Lion roars for the THIRD time at the
start of the movie The Wizard of Oz...Start playing
The Dark Side of The Moon! Some very strange
synchronicities between the album and the film
occur.
.
The Dark Side of the Moon stayed on The Billboard
Music chart for 725 Weeks!!!

.
BTW....Which One's Pink?

Although I like Dark side of the moon, I do think that The Wall is their crowning achievement. Comfortably Numb is one of the best songs ever.

I agree with Otin--The Wall is my favorite too. I do likes me some Darkside of the Moon though. :)

Have a great Monday G-man!

my boy has been a floyd fan since he was about 10. was a hoot to watch him groove on the wall back then. even funnier to listen to him do the scottish schoolmaster.

I discovered PF when I was about 12 on one of those three-hour-nationally broadcast-in-the-middle-of-the-night radio programs, and have been hooked ever since. Fearless, When the Tigers Broke Free, and DSOTM are my favs. Thanks for posting, G-Man!

Not listened to that in ages... I really must get some of my old music out.

...always interesting, G-Man. Our local community theatre is doing an original play/musical based on a Piedmont Jazz player...

HERE

I think it will be really good...

...and not to BRAG or anything (I wouldn't do that, would I?), but my daughter did all the artwork ...

It's so funny because a friend of mine plays this album over and over when he's had a little too much to drink - says it takes him back in time and he thinks he can stay there :)

I listened to nothing but Pink Floyd in the 80's and thought they were brilliant then, as I still do now. Love your facts as always man.

New facts to me. Interesting. I very much enjoyed the Roger Waters concert here in Stockholm earlier this year. The best concert I´ve ever been to!
