Lead singer Freddie Mercury, born Farrokh Bulsara
in Zanzibar of Indian parents, had always remained
quite popular in Iran

Speaking of Queen, on this day in 2007, lead guitarist
Brian May, was awarded his Ph.D. in Astrophysics from
London's Imperial College. The very Ph.D he was seeking
when the band started Kicking Ass many years earlier.

Iran started with Queen? Odd choice!
One of the most talented bands in rock history. If you weed through some of their campier material and go back to their first four or five albums, the music was amazing and rather heavy at times. A Night at the Opera is in my top 5 of all time albums.

My son Loves Queen! And I have come to realize he is right ...Now, he can sing right along with them... my voice doesn't go quite that high. I never listened to them much when I was a teenager... so now I am reliving my youth? ha ha (good thing I have an 18 year old to keep me young)
