The Silent Woman
Maybe our priorities have been rearranged
Maybe you think I've become deranged
Maybe your needs have dwindled and changed.
BUT MINE HAVEN'T...
Maybe your vision of me is blurred
Maybe the way you love is inferred
Maybe I still need for the words to be heard
BUT I VERY SELDOM HEAR THEM...
Maybe you think I shouldn't have to be told
Maybe you think that I'm tired and old
Maybe you think that I'm too flirty and bold
BUT THATS JUST NOT TRUE...PLEASE TELL ME!
Maybe I have a heart thats still burning
Maybe I crave a heart full of yearning
Maybe I feel that your passion is turning
JUST TALK TO ME DAMMIT...I'M NO MIND READER!!

Visual prompts are the best and you are the master. Well done, G. I love pondering the faces in old photos. You have done well G-hopper.
Congratulations Son...
You Done Good...Real Good!!
Monkey Man...
A Silent Woman, from the Silent Screen!
Thanks to you BOTH for your ALWAYS kind words!!
lol! I loved this (and the uniqueness of a woman who has little...oops...I mean nothing to say). It's really hard to imagine a time when silent was what film was all about...
Thanks for making me laugh, Galen! This was terrific.
A very creative write! I love the picture you chose. Mine is here. http://razzamadazzle.wordpress.com/2010/12/14/waiting-for-persephone/
You know...I've come to realize that Mr. Sister isn't a mind reader also! :o) I like this poetic side of you Mr. G!
Aw G, this makes me sad. What is wrong with communication these days? I know that men and women often speak different languages, but how come we all think that everyone is a mind-reader? I have heard this lament more than once or twice recently. I think there are some lessons here to be learned...
and the flow of this is excellent, BTW.
It's amazing how you can take a nondescript picture and turn it into such a vibrant story. With poetry, yet! Leaves me ... speechless.;)
That woman may be silent on the screen but off screen... just saying
Wowza G-Man you outdid yourself on this poem
Thanks as always for your support of One Stop
you need to submit a piece or two for the anthology
silent moonie smiles
Boy have I BEEN THERE. Sorry--got carried away...loved the pic, the poem and the poise of a man with a reasonable demand. So hard to find. ;_)
MMM -- silent maybe - but her eyes say a whole lot,,,, but giving one a silent shoulder - making one be a 'mind' reader, brrr that is darn right cold.
Nicely done and a perfect photo, which I am quite visual and the pairing here was artistic & creative.

i love this-- this is so very male and very true! xxxj
hah! I think you got the perfect words for that look in the picture!
Cool use of rhymes, G.... Dug 'em!!!
And as for mind reading, come on!! You gotta learn what you gotta earn!!! :))
This is my One Shot for this week...
Well written, nice one.
Anita.
Very creative writing G - I love it!
Ah - but don't those eyes speak volumes?
Keep writing and we'll hear you.
May our relationships never pay tribute to silent films. Body language is never enough. Nice write G.
LOL! Talk to me, dammit!
Ah, the old 'silent treatment' - sometimes it's a relief at first, but it gradually grates on the nerves.
A stellar One Shot, G-Man!
Great combo! and I do tend to shout
about not being a mind reader! thanks.
This is excellent, G-Man!
rocking poetic talent,
well done...
You said it well. Love needs to be spelled out. We are not mind readers.

i think men should - as soon as they get married - have a display on their forehead where one could read their emotions and wishes...would be nice..no..? LOL - nice one Galen!!
Hope she speaks to you soon, and that you're open to what she has to say.
This was really cute. Made me smile with recognition.
Its strange. Men always claim to be no mind readers, and women assume that they read their mind.
So women must be doing exactly that themselves, and misreading men always!
Galen! Find time to visit me too! ( There I have said what I wanted to say)
Great one shot :)
Men are no mind readers - ditto for women
Comforting to know men felt this way, too. So often all I hear is me talking...
Thanks for sharing.
Adding my voice to the chorus...I never knew a man felt like this. I've heard this complaint from women all my life...guess it goes both ways. Great piece, sir! Thank you.
Hey, G? You rock! I love it when the romantic poet in you breaks free.
Communication is key, G. Oh, I can rhyme :)
so much pain and longing...we all do need to hear the words!
i think jerry said it best. wishing that no relationship mimics the silent films. love ya.
She sure is difficult to read. Where love goes as in The 'Love Story' it's not having to say 'sorry'. Great!
Well done flow to the lines. While I haven't seen too many silent films, boy can I relate to not being able to read a woman's mind! Can feel like the proverbial "moment of silence" Digging your poetry GMan.
