Black Friday Flash 55.....

Things looked bleak for the Pilgrims.
Of the 110 that left England, only 50 survived the first Winter!
Had it not been for a Patuxet Indian named Squanto, they all would have perished.
Squanto spoke English!! (Learned from coastal fisherman ).
He taught the Pilgrims how to forage, plant, and harvest...
Thanksgiving honors their bounty!!
.
.
Dont'cha just LOVE the History Channel?
If you or anyone you know has written a Friday Flash 55, please come tell The G-Man. I will visit, read, enjoy, comment, Then Book!!! So from the most stuffed host from coast to coast, have a Great Week-End...
Peace..!!!

I joined the 55 crowd, thanks to Strumpet, and she sent me here to find out what it's all about. Posted my first one tonight.

Love this one ... and the tradition!

A 55 Flash Non-fiction! Well played G. Amazing how quick we forgot how much help these people were to us isn't it?

I'm back again with a different brand of Indian. The kind Chris Columbus thought he'd found.

G-Squat,

I learned all that tonight just by watching the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving special.

I suppose I've seen it before, but it's been awhile.

It was very educational.

Squanto and all.

Rasta played?!

Woot!!

I wrote mine.

I have to post it, though.

I'll do that now.

It's too bad this story does not get repeated more often, because its lesson - be kind to strangers, even in lean times - does not seem to have stuck all that well.

Thanks for yet another great one, g-man!

My 55 for the week is nowup, if a little late.

My Indian name would be:

Crazy Moon Pie.

Lisa, yours could be:

Beautiful Parsley Woman.

Yay!

Okay, now let's go do some peyote.

That should SO be part of Thanksgiving.

Oh well, maybe next year.

I bet I could find a recipe for Peyote Button Stuffing.

Oh, and I'm going to 'spatchcock' my bird next year.

Doesn't that sound fun?

javajazz said...

ha, Strumpie...you
crack me up...!
spatchcock!
whatever that is,
i think i'd like to try that
more than peyote...
