Retro Wednesday.....

Hi Everybody.....
This is what all us Baby-Boomers had shoved in our face at every event and family function before the day of the Video Camera. It was a Brownie wind-up 8 mm movie camera. You wound it up and a timer on the side told you approx how many minutes of film you had left to shoot.
This is from about 1961...It still works!
Oh...Do you like that fine imported Meakin China in the background?..hehehe Thats a very interesting story on how I obtained that...Another Time.
.
Peace..!!!

You've got a houseful of antiques! Dad didn't have a movie camera just a Brownie Box Camera to take stills, and only black and white!

My dad has about 10 of those. He's a "collector" like yourself. I don't think his work anymore.

I try to hang on to old stuff, but my other half just keeps binning it!!!!
I gave my son one of my dads old cameras which he loved, but his flat was broken into and the swines pinched it.....
I think its great that you have all these memories...

We only had stills. I remember those well. Most were slides. Yep, those slide shows.

Now the real question... can you still get film for it and get it developed?

Fun times on Retro Wednesday.

My dad had one of the first Polaroids- pictures in 2 minutes! Miracle at the time... Also first on block with color movie camera- still have all of them in boxes!

Do I get 'brownie' points for knowing that the name of the camera comes from a comic strip from the 1890's?
