In the basic Hindu Trinity of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, the Hindu God Vishnu is the Protector and Preserver of Creation. Vishnu is the embodiment of mercy and goodness, the self-existent and all pervading power that preserves the Universe and maintains the Cosmic Order or Dharma!!!
Most of the time, the forces of Good and Evil are evenly matched in the world. But at times the balance is destroyed, and evil demons get the upper hand. Often in response to a request from the other Gods, Vishnu then incarnates to human form, and sets the balance straight again...

...But since this is Monday Swinefest, we are only concerned at this time with Varaha.
He killed the Demon Hironyaksha, recovered the stolen Veda's, and released the Earth from the bottom of the ocean!!!! Yay....Varaha!!!!!
