His black suit looks great!
Tonight, my 17 year old son is performing with his
high school Symphony Band.
This comfy auditorium, sure beats watching the
Marching Band on a cold drizzly November Friday!
Where have the years flown?
I swear it was just yesterday, that he was playing....
"Hot Cross Buns"!

aawww, i know what you mean.....'lightly row' is the one we always joke about as the beginner song, and last night my oldest limelette had her high school concert band performance. so amazing to watch them blossom.

It is a happy thing to watch our own children's performence. I think you should take some pictures of your son and put it on this blog as i put my son's handsome pictures on EboynFriends.
Thats so sweet. The years just pass without us knowing.
You make 55 Flash look so easy!
JJ, It's only 55 words!
How hard can that be?
Good Morning Queenie,
Thats cause it is easy!
Thanks for your kind words...Galen
Don't have any kids (that I know of lol) so I will have to relate to this as I watch my niece grow. Her big things are dance and ice skating. Both me and my sister tried to get her interested in band but that was not going to happen. Just within the last month I could not believe how much she has grown and changed. She is 12 going on 20.
Other than that I have a lot of good memories of band. One of the earliest songs they played in the school system I came from was American Patrol. A nice simple song with a strong presence for clarinet and snare drums I believe. I must say I kinda liked marking in the fall at the football games and occasional parades but symphonic back was a little easier to take. No worrying about the instrument freezing up on you.
Great 55 Galen.
Awwwww.......*tear* I know how proud you must be to listen to your child as he blossoms in music.
P.S. I tried my hand at the Flash 55 today.
oh GREAT !! I always admire a person who plays instrument.
Which instrument does he play?
I play the violin. Maybe one day I can duet with him. :)
AWWW so sweet! :) You are so fond of them, your children. So am I so fond of my son, & he too plays the Guitar for the band on his annual functions!
Yes indeed, it seems like yesterday, when you first held them...
& My son wouldnt eat till I sang him all the nursery rhymes his most favourite being ' Jack Sprat could eat no fat' & 'three blind mice'
Hey Galen , I still remember ALL the nursery rhymes I learnt in my kinder garten!
