Wet and Wild.......

Hi Everybody...

This week-end was loaded with Open-Houses as usual. But Saturday morning me and Reese got up extra early to go fishing.
We went to a place that I've been fishing for about 55 years called Miller Lake. This lake has never allowed gas motors on it, and it has no public access.
You can rent a boat for 5 bucks for a 1/2 day, and 10 bucks for all day.
We had to catch and release probably 100 small fish AND a Snapping Turtle (Chelydra Serpintina), to get these 5 'keepers'. The biggest one being this 10 inch Sunfish (Lepomis Microlophus ).
We had a great father and son day!
The last pic is what you look like after falling out of a 12 foot rowboat in the middle of the lake, and treading water and clinging to said boat for about 45 minutes, until you finally make shore, dumping the water out of the boat, then rowing for another 1/2 hout to reach the landing. Other than a bruised ego, a lost cell phone with 3 years worth of numbers and pics, and my 20 year old Ray-Bans...It was a very 'Fun-Day'....
Have a Great Week...
Peace...!!!

You Maniacs......

"You Maniacs!!!!
You Blew It....
God Damn You...
GOD DAMN You To HELL!!!!!!

Yep, General Motors FINALLY did it!!!
The GM as we knew it since 1908...
IS NO MORE!!!
Oh they say 'Business as usual'. But you know, I'm not so sure.
The only difference supposedly, is that the current GM stock is now only worth .79 cents to the unfortunate few that didn't sell months or years ago..
That stock can no longer be traded, only cashed in.
Now the "New GM" will have to answer to their new bosses...The Feds!
The "New GM", is sort of a Mutant Evolution of the old corporation.
Lets hope "these" Mutants fare a little better than the ones in Beneath The Planet of The Apes...If my memory serves me right...They Blew It AGAIN!!!

As Of Today....GM stands for GOVERNMENT MOTORS!!!

Peace...!!!

Storm Clouds Looming.......

Hi Everybody....
Do you know this guy ? His name was William C. Durant.
Billy Durant....
Around the turn of the 20th Century, he owned a thriving company in Flint Michigan called The Durant Carriage Works. He later gained control of a fledgeling automobile co. called Buick. This was in 1908. Later that year he aquired Oldsmobile, Cadillac, and Oakland (later Pontiac). And General Motors was founded.
In 1909, he aquired the Rapid Motor truck company, and the Reliance motor co., these were the predessors to GMC truck. Durant lost control of GM in 1910 to a bank trust because he owed so much money (One Million...hahaha) in obtaining those companies.
Durant left the firm and co-founded The Chevrolet Motor Company in 1911, with Louis Chevrolet. After a brilliant stock buy back campaign, he regained control of GM in 1916, and in 1917 Chevrolet joined GM.
GMs Headquarters remained in Flint until the mid-20's, when it moved to Detroit..
In the 40's, and 50's, and 60's, ANYONE could move to Flint from any depressed area in the country and get a job 'In The Shop'. Flint was a wonderful place to grow up. A very progressive school system, Top Notch hospitalization, Colleges, Culture, and all in a beautiful Winter-Water Wonderland!!!
10 years ago GM stock was 75 Bucks a share...Friday it closed at .75 Cents!!!
Monday they are supposed to file for Bancruptcy protection.
