Retro-Wednesday.....

When I was growing up in the 50's, we could go to the corner store and get a marvelous little treat that we all called 'Nut Chews'. The cost was 2 for a penny!!
Although this tasty treat had been around since the 20's, the original company fell on hard times. They are now produced as a 'Retro Candy' by the Necco Co.
I found some this week-end in a quaint little country market when I was on R & R. The cost I believe was 2.49 a pound! A tad more than 2 for a penny...But just as I remembered.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm....
Peace...!!!

Tuesday Trivia......

Many people have said to me recently....
"Galen, I didn't know you were a golfer".
Well, I'm not really a golfer, but I do like to golf.
Please consider this.....
.
IN 1923, WHO WAS:

1. President of the largest U.S. Steel Corp.?
2. President of the largest U.S. Gas Co.?
3. President of the NY Stock Exchange?
4. The greatest wheat speculator?
5. The Great Bear of Wall Street?
.
THE ANSWERS:

1. Charles Schwab (no relation to the stock broker). He died a pauper avoiding bankruptcy!
2. Edward Hopson...He wet insane!
3. Richard Whitney..He was released from prison early to die at home!
4. Arthur Cooger...He died abroad, penniless!
5. Cosabee Livermore...He committed suicide!
.
BUT.....

That same year 1923, Gene Sarazen won BOTH the PGA and the U.S Open in golf!!
What became of him?
He played golf until he was 92.
In 1999 he died at age 95.
He was very financially secure at the time of his death!

The Moral To This Story?.......

FUCK WORK...PLAY GOLF!!!!!

Friday Flash 55.....

She closed her eyes for some 'Sleepytime', on her daily train commute to 'Darjeeling'.
Although she appeared a little 'Green' behind the ears, 'Jasmine' knew her way around the ole 'Valerian Root'....
Every day after his 'English Breakfast', her employer 'Earl Grey', would have her whisper... .
"Oh Mr. Grey, your 'Red Zinger' is 'Oolong'".
.
.

If you or anyone you know has written a Friday Flash 55, please come tell the G-Man.
I will visit, read, enjoy, comment....Then Book!!!
So from the most gracious host from coast to coast...
Have a Great Week-End!
Peace...!!!
