Monday....

'Come on, try a line, it'll keep you alert.'
I snorted two long, wide, powdery lines...
It was FANTASTIC!
Every idea was Earth-Saving.
Every word uttered was profound.
In Reality every thought was a Madman's Raving.
My inhibitions unbound.
I could see clearly... (Or so I assumed)
In a matter of weeks I was amongst the Lost Ones,
The Damned, The Liars...The Consumed!
I lost;
My Home
My Friends
My Family
My Dreams
My Raison D'Etre
My Self-Esteem
I stole, I begged, I left no bridge Unburned.
I have nothing left.
That original Moment of Enlightenment,
was destined to never return!!
As I put the barrel to my temple, The depths of
my addiction suddenly became apparant.
I had pawned all of My Bullets!

Hey, if Vegas and Broadway can have Dark Monday,
So can The G-Man!!
Happy Holidays Everybody....:-)

You're a cheerful little soul, aren't you? :)

I hope that's not the tale of someone you know.

Loved it! You had me up until the very end. I thought it was awesome and I like your style. You should put the tip jar on your site and ask for money for the bullets. I bet you would of got some coins from this blog! Tee hee! ♥

Never heard of Dark Monday. But I LOVE the dark because it keeps the damaging UVs off my delicate skin. (I'm so vain, I probably think this comment is about me.)

Never did cocaine -- thank god!

Awesome poem, tho!! One of your best.
