Tired Tuesday.......

Hi everybody...
There's a quiet little suburb of Detroit called Hamtramack. This little town is famous for Cadillacs and a very large Polish population. Traditionally on 'Fat Tuesday' people waited in long lines to get a dozen or so of a little taste of Heaven called a Paczki (pronounced poonch-key).
Now they are made in most bakeries and doughnut shops in the state.
Tomorrow, our dealership is holding the Fenton Rotary Club's montly breakfast meeting. The meeting is being held from 7:15 am to 8:30 am. Guess who is preparing and assembling the breakfast? Yes...Moi!!!
It is now 9:35 pm, I have already cut up 2 pineapples, 2 quarts of strawberries, plucked the grapes from a 4 pound stem, cut up 2 cantelopes, for a fresh fruit bowl! We are also having bagels, assorted pastries, paczki's, and as we speak, I am making enough Sausage gravy and biscuits to feed 35 people....Thats just for the Rotary breakfast!!
Traditionally I also make Chicken and Andouille sausage Jambolaya, and THE best mufalletta sandwiches north of the bayou, for my fellow workers. I have that to do yet tonight!!
I've got my Zydeco Music, and my beads....
Laissez les bon temp roulez!!!
Let the good times roll!!!!!
Peace...!!!

G-Man: I remember helping my grandmother make these wonderful treats...she put marachino cherries in hers. The closest Polish community to me now is in Baltimore. They even have a few butchers up there that make the fresh kielbasa...umm maybe it's time to head up there and buy some goodies!

"Fat Tuesday" got it's name from Catholics, who would use up their lard and butter for pastries and such before Lent started.. We have a West side donut shop(west side of G.R. is where most Polish descended live around here!) called Sandy's- who makes a Paczki so heavy, it takes all of Lent to digest it! I'd kill for some Oysters Bienville today!
