Retro Wednesday......

From 1968 to 1972, my college fraternity provided the ushers for one of the local concert venues. We got paid 8 dollars a head, and some shows needed up to 36 ushers. We also got to see the shows for free. I tore tickets at the door, and after every show I asked the theater mgr. if I could have the sign on the marquee. These were all hand painted.
I think I have about 10 left...Check out the ticket prices...hehehehehe
I took more pics, but G-Mail is experiencing technical difficulties...sorry.
.
Peace...!!!

wow, that's some cool stuff to get a hold of for free way back when. were you just sentimental or were you thinking ahead to what this stuff might be worth some day?

Very, very cool! And the ticket prices are unreal compared to what they are today. You know, you should think about calling yourself Mr. Keep-it-All henceforth.:)

Have a beautiful day!

Dang, gas prices per gallon are almost more than these ticket prices. No, I prefer to pay $200-$1000 to hear even less talented folks now...

Funny you mention this, last Friday night, before Sarah's birthday, I went to see a live concert. I was watching the ushers and they were dancing along side us, I thought to myself, well, I wish I had their job! I'd love to be able to see shows AND be paid for it! I had the same conversation with a lady who had just that job at the Police concert we went to back in January,,she agreed, her job was the best!
