This is the Crab Apple tree next to my house.
Because of last years crappy Spring and no apple crop,
this year there is a bumper crop of apples and pears!!
Notice that there are NO apples on the ground or the lower branches?
Thats because about 5 deer come in every morning about 5:55 AM and
scarf up all that they can reach. After the snow flies, I've seen them on their
hind legs trying to reach the unfallen apples on the higher branches.
(The deer are like Rats around here).

Rats? The size of deer? No way I'm coming to Michigan.
My computer is trying to die on me, G, and I have no idea if I will be in the realm of the connected by the Friday fest--just letting you know--it gave me the black screen of death for hours this morning, and told me my hard drive is disintegrating. :C I will be there if I can, but if not, it's not YOU it's PC.
Hedge... Can't you put some Wicca Voodoo Mojo on that POS?
I wish I was there to shoot the deer...well, photograph them is what I meant. Of course. :)
Those deer sure know how to make the G-Man happy. It would be a sin if they came at 5:15 or 4:45. :)
I'd rather have deer than rats any day they are prettier
Yes, but such beautiful rats. I do not like Brian's comment even though I contemplate that deer are going to overtake the world someday (a new theory of mine) as I think our area's population of deer far outnumber humans :P
They like crab apples?
So does this mean deer like sour things, or do they lack the taste buds that can detect sour things?
Curious.
And now I'm craving pears.
We've had a bumper crop of apples around here too. I plan on making lots of wine. Wonder if I can get 55 gallons?
