Thursday Portrait.....

Now it seems that President Obama is infected by the 55 epidemic!!
These tougher proposed fuel standards would reduce our oil consumption
by 2 Million barrels a day!
But we need the right incentives to put this strategy in place.
Instead of FOUR BILLION Dollars in tax-payer funded oil subsidies.
(While the oil companies are reaping record profits)
We need to encourage new investements in cleaner energy sources.

WOW!!! Did that political rant come from me?
Sorry....We will now resume our regularly scheduled line of Happy Horseshit.
Starting on Thursday 8:00 pm EST of course....Hehehehe.

I have to agree, they all bitched about the first CAFE standards but they met them and each set that came after that and yes that 4 billion could go either back into the SS system (as a pay down on the federal debt) or into FEDERAL laboratory R&D specifically JPL or some other NASA propulsion lab.

Good rant! I don't know what the BEST answer is, but keep trying!

And of course, the way to get better fuel economy is to declare it so, then bludgeon the engineers when it turns out to be harder than that. . .

'Cuz, see, the Laws of Physics are what we say they are. . .

morons. . .

You know...wa-a-ay back in the olden days I had a VW Rabbit diesel that got about 55 mpg. Now that's progress(?).

You should throw a rant more often. My dad drove a tank of a Chrysler that seated about 20 in the sixties and he got better mileage than I do today with my Impala.
