Mango Tuesday.....

Hi Everybody...
I hope you all had a Kick Ass Holiday. The G-Man Did!
Welcome to my very first installment of ....
Mango Tuesday!!!
The mango has a hard and very strange obb-long/oval pit.
I believe that is why many folks do not like messing with them.
But even a dolt like me can pull this off, so please give it a try.
Cut along the pit on both sides.
Take the mango slice and 'Score' it, being careful not to tear
the skin that you are holding.
Hold the 'Scored' slice outward, and push with your thumbs.
VOILA!!!
How easy is that?
OK...Here's something fun we can do.
Can you name a Food Item that you may or may not like
because they are odd or foreign to you or are too hard to clean?
How about The Artichoke? Some people NEVER buy them...
Anyway.... Share if you like, or just Smile and comment.
Peace...!!!

No artichokes for me. Or avocados. If I wanted to eat them, I'd figure out a way to get into them. I just plain don't like them.:)

Mmmm...mango.

I am trying to think of something that I don't eat because it's hard to prepare, but nothing really comes to mind. Mostly i don't eat stuff because I'm super picky. :)

I guess Pomegranate would qualify. Love it, but it is a pain in the ass, so I don't eat it often.

Well, the first thing that popped into my mind? Artichokes. A pain to get that choke out, but SOOOOOO worth the effort! I love them.

My 14-year old grandson plays guitar and has a little band with two friends ... they are The Glass Mangos!!

Trout. I can't be bothered to eat around all those bones.

Artichokes, on the other hand, are FUN!(And avocado and mango and pineapple and nectarines and lychees and ....)

I love mango.

I've never tried artichoke because it's alien looking and I wouldn't know what to do with it!

I was going to say artichoke!

I'm going to do that mango trick for my daughter. She will be so impressed!

I love mango. Neat way to handle them, Galen. Those hard to attack food things are always worth the extra effort, I think. Mind you, pomegranates can be a real pain, but I still like 'em. :)

Yum. I love mangoes. And artichokes. And shellfish. And... Well, I guess it's easier to say there is nothing I don't eat because it's too difficult.

I have a double-secret way to fix the issue of pomegranate difficulty, thanks to my 18 year old and her savvy television viewing. Cut it in half and plunge it in a sink full of cold water, pulling it apart as you do so. The seeds and pulp separate. It takes about 60 seconds.

As for me, I love everything except strawberries and shrimp. Neither of those are difficult to make, so they don't count...

We love mangoes at our house G. My kids go nuts over them as of late, and I end up with NONE! I quite like pomegranates, but have a hard time with the seeds, so don't bother with them often. And while I like artichokes, I can't say as how I have ever bought them, aside from in a jar.

I can do that too! Galen we have more than 500 variety of mangoes in India!

Wowzer...never thought I'd take away a food tip from the G-Man, ha! I love mangos, but HATE messing with 'em...I'm trying this! I peel/eat a grapefruit like an orange, less mess!
