One Shot Wednesday....

.

.
Eiswein!
Blood of Dionysus.
Whilst your clustered brethren have long since
been gathered, pressed, vatted, and Swilled.
You are still clinging to that frosted vine!
Standing a lonely vigil...
Waiting to wither
Waiting to freeze.
But from that icy raison explodes...AMBROSIA!
The ultimate gift from Mother Nature...
To her very undeserving offspring.

Not a fan of the ice wine, way too sweet for my taste. BUT your verse was perfect. :)

Ah, if you are talking about the German Eiswein, I am not a fan!!(I'm with ME on that.) Other German wine, bring it on!

I prefer a good red but you already knew that :) Nice One Shot my friend. I'm hoping to have a 55 by Friday, I've been a little slack!

I'm going to have to leave you to it - I can only drink the dry wines.

Mmmm. . . wine. Love the word choices and celebratory tone of this.

Woe is me, I'm not much of a wine drinker. Nice verse, though.:)

I love this one! If only I had those grapes, I'd start a new batch of wine!

Mine is here. http://razzamadazzle.wordpress.com/2010/10/12/one-shot-wednesday-week-15/

Oh, Galen! Can I come over? Please? I love Eiswein!

Those lonely grapes left behind to shiver in the cold hold sweetness the chosen ones could only hope to have.

Ice Wine! Yes! A fabulous dessert wine and a gabulous poem, G-Man. Cheers! Having just celebrated the Grape and Wine Festival in the Niagara Region, this poem is perfect.

Mind you, I'm being a bit disloyal as it's Oktoberfest here in our region and it's all about the steins right now! :)

Your poetically tweaked 55 rocks! I am a bit surprised you didn't have a picture of feet squishing the grapes. lol Seriously, enjoying your work, G.

why are the grapes frosted? here in wine country, the grapes are warm and the sugars' almost ready.
almost shakespearian, Gman, thou dost imbibest with the gods.
uugh!

I want to eat those frozen grapes!

Very eloquently penned! Love the photographs, too. I keep promising myself to make wine from our grapes, but I usually end up just juicing them, instead.
