Retro Wednesday.....

Yuban Coffee was founded in 1905.
In 1960 they sent out free samples of their 'New Improved" instant coffee to select homes. They were sent out in these cute baby burlap bags, complete with drawstring! After the coffee was consumed, I thought it would be a swell thing to keep my Football cards in. (My baseball cards are stored elsewhere)
Football cards are not worth as much as Baseball Cards, but two of the most interesting ones are of Jim Brown (Arguably THE greatest running back EVER), and Bart Starr (Quarterback of the first TWO Superbowl Champion Green Bay Packers).
Jim Brown is worth about $100 Bucks, Bart about $50!
Of course they are NOT for sale....

Peace...!!!

Boys and their toys! Of course, the girls have their Barbie dolls...I never had one! They just didn't appeal to me. I wasn't crazy about Yuban. I always like good French dark roast coffee or an exotic strong Sumatra.

very cool. remember when they used to put cool stuff in products...they dont even do that with cereal any more...sad. i have a pretty cool set of football card put out by A1 with players favorite recipes on them...

But if you ever DO sell them, you could probably finance your retirement.:)

my fave coffee ever is Cafe Bustelo. That with some half-n-half is heaven. Unfortunately it's not only hard to find around here, but it's also not on hubby's fave coffees. *pouts*

Reminds me of my old baseball card collection. Can't even think about what all those cards might be worth if they hadn't gotten thrown out in a move. Love seeing your cards, though. Thanks!

I guess at one time every boy collected cards.. the ones that kept them were the smart ones!

I had some football cards as a kid. Fran Tarkenton and Mean Joe Green are the ones I remember.
