Before there was MTV... Before there was Don Kirshner's Rock Concert.. Before there was Hullaballoo and Shindig... Even before Dick Clark's American Bandstand.... The popular music of the day was on TV... YOUR HIT PARADE!!! Dorothy Collins, Snooky Lanson, and The Hit Parade singers!! Of course I remember that show...hehehehe Peace...!!!
(Not this episode sillies, it ran until the late 50's)
Feeling a bit nostalgic lately g? I was recently thinking about how I would wake up early Sat/Sun mornings and put on the ole B&W and the only program on was the "Modern Farmer"!

I've heard of that but never saw it. Which is probably just as well because, from the clip, it looks pretty goofy.:-)

I'm an American Bandstand girl myself. I was just watching some old 80's videos. I want my MTV too! jeNN
That is one I don't remember, but I was more tuned in to cartoons back then.
OMG. I so forgot about this. Now I do feel old. Oh wait...that's right re-runs LOL
Awesome Galen !!!
So what was life like before telegraph and vacuum tubes?
That seems like a way more simple time. :)
let's see ... corny, surreal ... a combo of a grown-up version of the Micky Mouse Club and Lawrence Welk. And yes ... this was before my time.

For a city kid it was very educational! :D
I love the Lucky Strike intro. Won't see that these days!
All I remember was it was bad! A bunch of has-beens, trying to remain in the spotlight...
Why only this afternoon you told me you weren't that old G-man! (wink)
well, i've heard of it and of sing along with mitch but it was definitely before my time.
The Lucky Strike commercial, what a hoot. I do remember the cancer stick ads, but I was not yet around for this show. :)
I'm not quite old enough to remember that show. Close, but not quite.
