Blogger ate my first attempt..Grrrrrrrr.
The first 3 pics are lard cans that are for sale On-Line.
And for a pretty penny I might add.
The Farmer Peets can, we have had since the 40's.
It was used for camping and/or deer hunting to store food in, to keep it out of reach of critters.
Mine is NOT for sale.... of course I still use it!!!
Peace...!!!

I have antiques all over my house and I know how expensive this stuff is.
I have a little award for you over at my place.

I bet they want a pretty penny for those, indeed!
G man? you are a goat???

A kid on House just shoved something really big up his nose...
And House used a huge magnet to get it out.

I HAVE AN AWARD FOR YOU....SEXY!
And I was just thinking that I liked the Farmer Peet's best!
Mona- Take it from an old goat like me, I know!
Cool! :-)
Odd isn't it...Americans stopped using industrial size portions of lard and then we got obese...
Lard. Lard?! Lord.:-)
oooh, i too love old tins of whatever... got quite a few too... nice one!
pretty cool. although i shudder to think of such a quantity of lard in the first place.....urp.
Hmmm, I know what lard is, but WTF is 100% Leaf Lard? Great collectibles those lovely old tins. :))
My step father use to make lard sandwiches...GROSS!!!!!
Lard is making a come back with pastry chefs..
That is a big can of lard. When McDonalds used to fry french fries in lard, they tasted so good. Now they fry it in who knows what and they taste just awful.
Ok, I will try to come up with a 55.
I used to use lard for frying eggs - they taste so good, and I used beef dripping for making chips (french fries to you) and you just can't beat the taste of those. Now of course we've gone all healthy and use sunflower oil!
One day I am going to visit the Gman museum of Americana!
I had to take another look at those yummy meats on your other post. Man, that just makes me hungry!
