Friday Flash 55.....
"Well, how do I look?"
'You look Radiant....All spiffy in your new scarlet outfit!'
"I just wanted to look my best when the time comes. Say, wouldn't
it be swell if we could be pressed in waxed paper and saved forever
as a Book Mark? I DREAD the thought of being blown, raked, bagged
and burned....."
The blown, raked, and bagged part doesn't seem so bad, but it would be just
my luck to end up in some mulch bin with rotting leftovers and grass clippings!
If you or anyone you know has turned red or has written a Friday Flash 55
Please come tell The G-Man.
I will visit, read, enjoy, comment....Then BOOK!
So from the most photosynthetic host from coast to coast
Have a Kick Ass Week-End!!!!!

Ha! I'm walking compost, myself. I'm waiting till my parts start turning red and falling off before I panic, though.
I'm playin--I can't help it, Dr G, I keep having these dreams:
Moondust
ha. the leaves def have it tough...s bit of beauty before they die in the fire...
i'm back, mine is here:
http://www.waystationone.com/2013/09/in-oktober-when-fields-are-grey.html
I used to love jumping in the leaves... I remember raking them as an adult thinking too bad I couldn't let my children jump in them as we have three dogs and the pile is FULL of dog poop as well. Then I remembered, I grew up with two big dogs as well... Yuck!!
Yes, the "Future Sailors" could have easily been turned into a 55, but I already had one prepared :)
Afternoon Bouquet
Don't get me started on those damn leaves!
Mine's up on my poetry blog, G-Man.
Ha, you have captured the mind of a leaf well.
Here is mine:

Great 55! Love the leaf's perspective. Around here they all get eaten by goats. :-)
Mine is HERE.
If it was my yard it would be the compost bin and reincarnation into next spring's kale. :) Sorry.
More Blues from me tonight.
Hey-ho, G-Man, I decided to post early like some of the other folks, and avoid the big rush tomorrow. Giving you a blast of whimsy here, Galen; dig it.

Who could resist a poetic and whimsical Galen? :)
I have a school project my youngest son did in Grade 1 - about leaves. They are still intact some 20 odd years later.
My 55: Paper Dreams
Sorry about the delete comment. I screwed up. :)
Crieminy, I better get my compost heap ready. I totally forgot that was coming.
Mine is up
Leaves turning color? What is this strange thing of which you speak? It's still summer here!
Here's mine? On a Mission
I can feel my chlorophyll draining away already.
Or my sanity. Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference.
Isn't there an Emily Dickinson poem that compares red leaves to someone's life blood draining away? The branches are compared to open arteries or something....
Thanks for another Friday 55.
Mine's here. :)
(and I just found the Emily Dickinson poem here.)
I hate that feeling of wrinkled and dry....aging sucks :)
Here's my 55...I try to stay away from the poetry thing I am always writing and expand my words into random thoughts of 55.

I am beginning to feel like a wrinkled and faded autumn leaf! Or so my 55 indicates.
You are always so funny, Galen.
Cool Autumnal musings, G-Man.
Here's my rather grim evocation of the end of childhood innocence.

Your idea to preserve their beauty as a bookmark is lovely. In fact, it is swell! Happy Autumn, G.
on my mother's birthday
I seems that winding up in a mulch bin in an unavoidable fate. But somehow that seems preferable to ending up a curiosity. Come to think of it, I'm that already.
The Devil Made Me Do It
I'm playing again after some time off. Good to be back.
It's here:

totally enjoyed this.. i often wonder at their conversation too..

I was truly inspired by your 55 to realize I did know someone in red.
Love yours. Here's mine: The Invitation

I kind of favour being pressed myself ;)
my 55 is here
I don't like looking ragged either!
Here's mine in honor of you know who.

Have a great week. k.
Oddly enough I only fear being raked, bagged and burned....."
Better late than never as a penance I wrote 3 for you. I think someone stole my calendar or maybe it's because I am still using 1999's *shrug*
sorry I'm late.... but here it is:
scarecrow
gorgeous picture celebrating my favorite season, even with a chuckle.
finally did finish visiting everyone... I think so many of the 55's you have had over the years would make a great anthology for a book!
