Friday Flash 55.....

On a Dark Stormy day 1980 years ago, a grieving mother cradles her dead
Son's body. He died a horrific death at the hands of Roman Centurians. He
owned nothing! But a good and upright man named Joseph of Arimathea, gave
the dead man his own tomb, and helped wrap the bloody corpse in a shroud....

Whether you believe that Jesus rose from the dead, or his body was hidden,
these events did indeed happen. And his messy death changed the World Forever!
If you or anyone you know has written a Friday Flash 55
Please come tell The G-Man
I will visit, read, enjoy, comment....Then BOOK!
So from the most gracious host from coast to coast
Have a Kick Ass Week-End

"...Why'd you choose such a backward time in such a strange land?
If you'd chose today you would have been a whole nation.
Israel in 4 BC had no mass communication!"

G-man, I have been following this new Pope...he made me cry today.

Eastern Orthodox Pascha (Easter) is not until the beginning of May this year. But I wish you all a blessed, holy, and reflective Good Friday and Easter Sunday!

I AM playing this week...

Love the quote, and I'll never forget the fun of Easter as a child, where like Christmas, children have a special place in what makes it important. Or to my warped mind anyway.

I'm playin--anybody want to play Paper Dolls?:

"Gethsemane with Ian Gillan I think he is the singer I like from the Broadway musical (JCSS) ... one of the versions is just amazing with the high note being hit unbelievably by a man. I love the sound track.

The Shroud of Turin has always fascinated me too. Lovely 55. I'm almost ashamed to post mine... blame Poetry Jam :)

Usual

Have a ... Happy Easter Weekend. :)

Wishing you a very Happy Easter, Galen. This is so far removed from the Easter Bunny as to be almost an unbelievable tale! :)

I do hope you have a great Easter! I'm afraid I won't be playing this week. We've had 18 kids born in the last four days...

on the last bit from JCSS, i think born today he would be just as controversial and confused you know...but you are right in that there is little doubt to the facts you gave...and from there comes the faith...

G., I love your Easter 55. And I, too, love what the Pope did today. Makes me proud for the first time in a long time. I wrote one for youhere but it seems quite trite after yours. Happy Easter.

How sad for humanity that his death should mean as much as his life.

Fortunately, how we live is more important to those around us than how we die. And if we're lucky, we too will shine a little light on those to come.

Not with my silly poem for today, though. *sigh*

If Our Saviour had chosen today the National Guard would have called in a SWAT team and set fire to His compound and slaughtered His disciples. We don't tolerate religious fruitcakes any more than the Romans did. They upset the tables of the moneylenders and fly planes into World Trade Centers.

Enjoyed that. You've got me singing the songs. Now, you'll find mine here.

Mine's just a little bit of fun with a character of mine and a favorite borrowed character.
I have a rule that I try to avoid discussing politics or religion. Jesus I have no problem with, but I have had issues with some who claim to be his followers. Not you, I've no issue with what you said at all.

I don't have a 55 this time; I seem to be poetically brain dead for the moment. But I want to wish you and your readers a Happy Easter!

These events did indeed happen and they did, indeed, change the world. For better or worse remains to be seen.
