Baby names are important. As a former behavior disorders teacher, I could mention several names to avoid. :-)

Mine is HERE.

My name is Brandi. I hate it I hate it I hate it, more than you could ever ever know. I. Hate. It. And that stupid fucking song, I hate it more than I hate the devil and all evil in the world throughout history. Anyone who names their girl child Brandi should be horsewhipped til they repent of their dumbassery.

I am playing.

My mother had a lion statue outside her front door and I remember naming it "Percival".

For all I know, its previous owners had named it "Peckerwood".

Thanks for another Friday 55!
Mine's here. :)

J.J. it is . Ha. I named my first child William and my second Chelsea. When we had our third, everyone said we should name her Hillary.

Wasn't ever gonna happen!

Some people forget that babies become grownups. It's best to name the child for the adult they will someday be!

Here's mine: Party On!

Ah, deciding names - a nightmare. I'm afraid mine isn't that Englandy, though :-)
You'll find mine here.

Some parents in their enthusiasm make a real mess of naming their unfortunate offspring.

What a great 55, G! Actually, I think Percival is a cool name, even if it is Englandy-soundy. Names can really get to a kid if they don't fit....like me with my first name, I still am just not sure about it, one of the reasons I used my middle name for my blog.
Enjoy your weekend!

LOL Parents have a huge responsibility naming their offspring - some just don't take it seriously enough. ;)

Sorry haven't played this week G. x

We actually have someone who works for us named Junior for an official real first name all legal like. Perhaps not as original as naming all of your sons George, though.

So funny. Living in Brooklyn then we thought it might be convenient to name a child "Yo.".

As in "hey Yo.". I mean isn't there a cellist or something?

I am up but doing all from iPhone today so hard to have exact post URL. It's http://Manicddaily.wordpress.com

Have a safe weekend. Stay dry! K.

Okay, here is mine. It has something to do with Mr. Dick.http://www.bewareofdarkness.net/2013/02/moby-dick-redux-55-word-friday.html

That got your attention--no, it didn't--I don't have any pictures of Beyonce's better half.

I deleted that last comment as I meant to say to Brandi something in agreement, but it came off like that song, which was exactly her point! I'll be by to see your 55, Brandi.

When I named my son, I named him and that was it. No discussion. It was the girl names that got me into trouble.

I'm always confused by folks with two first names, like Bill Williams, or people with two last names, like Montgomery Taylor. My 55 is here. I think we were both thinking about language today. :)

It'll come to me as soon as I hit Oublish on this.

And Publish.

Because I have oublished all, having recently been to my Oubliette. :)
