She lives in Istanbul (Not Constantinople).
She hasn't been home for Christmas in FOUR years!

Why DID Constantinople get the works?
I guess that's nobody's business but the Turks...
You should go and visit HER for Christmas, Galen! I would go in a heartbeat if I had a good reason, like say, if my child lived there...
Yup time to go see her! See yah

It's always hard not to have family around for the holidays. I agree it would be great to go visit her!
Aww sorry your daughter wont be with you for Christmas But I'm sure she misses you just as much!
i can understand why her absence would bum you out. hugs, my friend.
Ha sit been that long? Geez I remember your post about her and her husband leaving. Time for you to dust of your passport and let her do the holiday cooking Galen.
I'm sorry your daughter won't be home for the holidays. That's hard. My daughter is 2 hours away, and I was feeling sorry for myself because she couldn't join us till the morning of the 25th. I guess I need to quite whining. I hope you still have a happy Christmas Galen.
It must be hard not to see your child at Christmas. I'm very lucky that mine live not too far away and I see them regularly. x
Must be hard having a loved one so far away for so long, G-Man.
(Kudos for the TMBG reference!)
Neither of my sons will be with us at Christmas. Subdued Christmas for me but, I will still reflect on the meaning of it.
