The....(well, take your pick of blogs) ;)
Well, for Christmas '55 I was almost 7 months in utero. I'm told my birth-mother got a day-pass from the home for unwed mothers, so she could spend Christmas with her family. . .
I don't remember the bubble lights; we just had the strings of big bulbs. (And yeah. . . there's nothing even remotely phallic about that ad, is there? I love the look on the girl's face. . .)
Merry Christmas! It is a very nostalgic time. I mourn the loss of my grandparents but a younger sibling? Oh...that would be too much to bear.
I think our generation had much in common. We went to a one-room schoolhouse through sixth grade. Now that was an education!
We still put up a real tree, and it seems like we're always involved in a war. My random posts don't always coincide with Fridays and once again I found it impossible to stop at 55 words, but I wanted to stop and say hello. Should I get something less wordy together, I'll let you know.
I tried but it came out angry and the more i tried the more pissed on I felt how about one word relating the fiscal cliff....CRASH!
I 55'd!
Weeeeeeee!
It's a Yule Miracle!
:D

Love your Nostalgia! Added a bit of my own! thanks, G- be back later to visit more :)
Until they outlaws real trees, I will ALWAYS have a real Christmas tree. There's no other aroma like it in the world!
Mine's up. Wishing you and yours (even those in far away places and in spite of the earworm you planted yesterday with the Constantinople reference) Merry Christmas and all the best in the New Year!
So many wonderful people are no longer with us in person but they made for great memories and still live within us and our traditions.
Flash 55 - I'm Alive, You're Alive
Awww...sounds like Christmas past was nice in your world. I hope you have a good one this year G-man.
And sorry this is so late, but I didn't think I'd need to do a 55 what with the apocalypse and all. But it's finally done and you can

Wow, G, how poignant. After reading your 55 I let out a thoughtful "Hmmmm" here at the computer. So very touching.
I am late. Actually I lost track of the days because my husband is home for a couple days and I forgot it is Friday!
Happy Christmas to you and yours!
P.S. Mine is Julia Bulette
i never heard of bubble lights until this year when a friend found some for her tree.

What a wonderful, sentimental post. Merry Christmas, Galen! We have a real Christmas tree this year and we aren't the only ones who are enjoying it.

OOooo I love bubble lights we even still have some...We used to use them every year but then I was afraid they would burn out and I'd loose them so I put them away...most of them are as old or older than me
