Friday Flash 55.....

THE HEDGEWITCH

Europeon villages of olde were surrounded by hedges.
Beyond the hedge was unknown.
Living beyond the hedge, brought both fear AND respect.
They belonged to neither the living or the dead.
They worshiped Mother Earth.
They studied the Great Mysteries of Nature.
They were practical and simple.
They rendered healing.
They begat Joy.....

If you or anyone you know has cast a spell or written a Friday Flash 55
Please come tell The G-Man
I will visit, read, enjoy, comment....Then BOOK!!!
So from the most allegorical host from coast to coast
Have a Kick Ass Week-End!!!

Margaret is totally right *blushing* I do love it. Thank you so much for the wonderful 55, Galen. I wish I could embody that spirit of healing, of being the soul that can slip between the veils, ride the hedges, be wise enough to bring comfort. It's the reason I took this silly name--thanks for noticing it.

I'm playing--just a poem, no politics involved--I think we all need a breather there.

Living on the other side of the hedge is much more comfortable. Well, as long as the wolves don't get too hungry.

There are many ways we can live beyond the hedge, and they are all magical.

Here's something a little more mundane...

Just a few more and I can get that keen radio

Of course they begat joy, those people too afraid to go beyond the hedges never got to run naked through the fields with their what ever's bouncing around free in the breeze. No rules outside the hedges.

Oh, that is absolutely beautiful, a marvelous tribute to our hedgewitch! Thank you for a poem of wonder and instruction, as I did not know the origin of the name (it sure suits our hedgewitch and you pegged her essence with this 55).

This is terrific! You are absolutely right! A very wonderful little poem in its own right, but great tribute.

Here's mine - I couldn't resist. I'm sorry. It is political, but is meant to be conciliatory too.

Oh! The original midwife? I love this, one of my favorities, but what's with the nails?:) And I didn't realize there was history behind the Hedgewitch. I bet she'd be fun at a party. I'm playing! A little piece
here rendered from my travels up north.

Wonderful. I love this. It's a bit eerie, a little mysterious, ancient and yet forever timeless.

It's been a while, but mine is up at Roses to Rainbows.
