Flash Friday 55.....

"There were no computers, no X-Box, no cable.
We had OUTSIDE!!
There were no cell phones, we had land lines.
And usually you had to share THAT with a neighbor!"
She could see Mom's lips move with the same old
'when I was a kid' lecture....
She cranked up her I-Pod and rolled her eyes.

Sorry about the Non-Fiction...hehehehe
If you or anyone you know has written a Friday Flash 55
Please come tell The G-Man
I will visit, read, enjoy, comment....Then BOOK!!!
So from the most ignored host from coast to coast
Have a Kick Ass Week-End!!!

Things have changed so quickly...even my kids didn't have all those gadgets, they still played outside like I did. Have a good weekend, G-Man...thanks for the fun!

So true... I think I had that conversation a couple days ago!

I don't mind so much when they ignore me. Half the time when I start in on the "good old days" thing they shut me down and half the time they ask for more. Depends on whether or not they are mentioned. :)

I remember when McDonalds sandwiches came in styrofoam containers... does that count?

Thanks for another Friday 55!

I'm thankful my kids are active and love to be outdoors. But I don't do the Mom lecture anyway - I personally love having computers and smart phones!

ha ha. That face (both of them) are universal. The SAD thing is, I sometimes still do the "rolling eyeballs' when I visit my parents and stay tooooo long. :)

Man o' War

...no need to page me this week! :) I'll be back after I do my chores...

I work for a university and things have gotten so bad that we're having to develop a "Walking Safety" workshop to help the students keep from wandering into traffic while distracted by their devices.

I wish I was joking.

The photographer sure caught that girl with a telling expression!
You summed up many changes in 55 words, G.

Have a great weekend. We are prepping for painters who will do the exterior of our house all next week. Lots of yard work, but I'll try to read as many as I can.

Mr. G - Thanks for the non-fiction! It may explain why I have these bags around my eyes and what do they call all those little lines in the face! (We had OUTSIDE!)

Here's mine - sorry on a political flow for these::

I find myself giving my son the same kind of 'in my day' speeches more often than I like to admit. Never thought I'd do that after suffering through it myself, but there ya go.

Didn't get a chance to cue-up my 55 last night, but I'll post it and be back with the link soon.

So there was an old man and two late age teenagers sitting at a table. The kids had their hands conspicuously under the table. Wise in the ways of the world the old man asked "How many people are actually involved in this discussion." The first said "us three and 3 more" as she pulled her phone out from beneath the table. The second said "well all together then I guess twelve." as she too pulled her from under the table.

Truth is stranger than fiction.

My husband and I were just talking about his grandfather, who was born in 1875 and lived to be ninety, seeing the world completely change, and that we were the last generation to hear about what it was like back then first hand--yeah, no X-box, no cable, and outside was for chores not play.Loved the eye rolling.

Mine is up, a little metaphysics to make your head hurt this morning:

So sorry I am late. Been having some issues in the real world.

I love the picture prompt,Mr. G. Love your SURREAL 55! In my case, I am the ONE who encourages them to do that so that they do not quarrel. LOL.

I will be linking up everyone as usual.

Here's mine. Picking the boy up for the weekend, he wants to come home to study, because he is too distracted with netflix and our service is too slow for him to watch it. Some days I just want to throw all those electronics out the window.

Have a great weekend
