R.I.P. Roderick.....

As some of you may know, one of my Favorite days
of the year is Super-Bowl Sunday!!
Thats the day that I make my world famous Vidalia
Onion dip, and my Gorganzola dip, then head on over
to Mo-Doggies Bar and Grill. But before going to the bar
I would always pick up my friend Rod Bowles, and we would
go together. We worked together selling cars starting in the
early 90's. About 10 years ago Rod had Double Bypass Heart
Surgery and had to go on disability. About 5 years ago he
contracted Hepatitis and had to go og Interferon for a year.
In spite of it all he had a GREAT attitude.
He was very well read, had great taste in music and movies.
He never ever said a bad word about anyone.
He had died twice and was defibbed twice. He always said that
he was living on borrowed time, and he LOVED Life to the fullest!
Rod died yesterday on Easter Sunday, in his sleep....

Roderick...
We worked together, we played together.
We golfed together, played poker together.
We laughed together, we drank together.
We watched Many Super Bowls together,
But not any more!
I know you are at peace.
And we'll be tee'ing off together again all too soon.
In the meantime, I'll have an Ice Cold Stroh's in your
honor, and smile at all the good times we had together.
I Love You Brother...

( I'll be very uninspired this week so please forgive me.
I will be hosting Friday Flash 55 as usual though...Galen)

Yea Galen, not making light but even uninspiring you inspire. Good tribute to your friend and buddy. But please do try to hold off on that tee time for a bit yet eh?

Much as we hate it, we're old enough now to have been around this track before and know it's never easy. Be Well mourn your friend in health and stand among the living for as long as you remember him that is one way he remains a part of life in this place.

Uninspired? This poem is heartfelt and lovely. If all of us only realized our time here is numbered... we would live life like Rod and change the world as we know it.

I'll raise my wine glass to him tonight and say a prayer, too. Easter isn't a bad time to pass on to the other side!
