The Sky seems like it's always gray.
My White Birch stands naked to the wind.
The two things that I love, Grillin and Ridin...?
Gone for the Winter, as the Robins and Retirees!!
People that you love...? Not here!
Amidst the dreary, life struggles to survive.
This 'late to spin' Wooly Bear (Pyrrharctic isabella),
slowly crawls to a dark corner of my garage,
to fashion a sleep chamber before the Deep Freeze.
The next time I see it, hopefully it will look like this..

Oh my !! what a lovely yellow-
I had no idea that is what they
morph themselves into- REALLY ?
Thanks.
You don't grill in the winter, G-Man?
No problem Izzy...
MZ...Yes I grill. But NOT if there is 10 inches of snow and a wind chill of -40!
They say the width of the Wooly Bear's band indicates the length of winter...but not sure how to truly measure that.
I love birch trees.
We have snow now so at least the greys have some competition! :)
Poor little wooly bear; he looks lonely. Hope he'll find a cozy spot in your garage to sleep through the winter.
such a barren time in so many ways but i hope the love of good friends is a warming thing.
Yes, 'tis hibernating time in Northern Michigan! As far as not grilling year 'round... isn't that what a flask of Vodka is for? :)
That´s a beautiful little insect! :-)
*Sigh* Oh well, if we make it through at least we know the earth will tilt again in a few short months time. I miss my summer clothes already.
I hate winter, roll on Spring I say.
It's never too cold outside to grill, G-Man! A true griller - especially one who lives in Michigan - should never be daunted by the white stuff!
Blah...winter blues. Yuck! I think extra Vitamin D is suppose to help with that, and the thought of seeing that beautiful butterfly soon will give you something to look forward to!
