One Shot Wednesday...The Green Fairy!

.
.
.
Tincture of Anise
Fragrance of Fennel
The Wormwood Illusion...
Inspires Brilliance
Creates an Edge
Changes the Spectrum to a single Color!
Slowly the Sirenesque Echoes draw you in.
Dancing through your veins
Seducing your brain
Reality strained
Finally..... The silent refrain.
La Fe'e Verte...La Fe'e Verte...La Fe'e Verte....
.
.
Banned for import since 1895.
One can now purchase Absinthe legally in the US.
The active drug in the herb Wormwood called Thujone,
was thought to induce hallucinations, and eventually Drain Bammage!
A customer knew of my fascination with the beveridge,
And laid this bottle on me today...
Just what I need!!!
Do you have any poetry or prose laying around and it happens to be Wednesday?
Post it on your blog, then go tell the very talented crew at...

I'd hate to have bammage to my drain.

Loved your poem this week, G. Kind of gave me chills, with that chant at the end, sort of sinister feel to it...deliciously dangerous!

I've never tried this bevvie, myself. A hallucinogenic substance or three might be lurking in my past, but I'm strictly a beer and wine girl these days...

Have a drink for me, okay? :)

Makes a great holiday gift for that hard-to-shop-for relative.

Looks pretty, but I think I'll give that beverage a pass. My brain's already endangered.:)

The beginning made me think of the witches of Endor; by the end I was at the Old Absinthe House bar in New Orleans. Quite a tour,t his one is. Good poem.

It's gorgeous... I once knew someone who distilled his own (yes - I know that's illegal but I was young and stupid back then) It always made me giggle when I drank it.

You ARE going to go through the full ceremony with the sugar and the slotted spoon and all that, aren't you?

Oh man!
I hope you will not swallow much of that... We need your Thursday Portrait and write the FFF on Friday, so take care, and drink it after that!
:)
LOL
Great one- you!

Remember put a screen and sugar cubes in it before you pour. and don't drink until you feel like Edgar Allen Poe.

We'll be watching for an absinthe-soaked 55 on Friday, G-Man!

(Hey, that gives me an idea...)

Why in God's name would a dangerous drug be re-introduced?

Oh yeah.

Ah, Absinthe. For when someone wants to take it up just another little notch. Great poem and a great drink introduction--take it easy on that stuff. That wormwood can bring about some odd experiences.
