Retro Wednesday....

Sorry for the poor picture quality..
The top pic is one of my original stereo system speakers.
It's an Ultralinear 100 Watt speaker with a 12 inch woofer and a 'shut-off' circuit breaker. I got this about 1978 when I was employed at a midwest appliance chain called Fretter Appliance. These speakers still sound great, especially when I play my Vinyl records through them.
About 1996, I bought the Kenwood speakers to replace the old ones, the old speakers sounded so great I didn't have the heart to dump them yet...
The Kenwoods are in an unopened box...STILL!!

If you are from the Midwest, you may remember this commercial...
If you are REALLY old and from Michigan. You may remember that Ollie Fretter used to end ALL his commercials with..."I'll give you Five Pounds of coffee if I can't beat your best deal. The competition knows me...You Should Too!!!"

We NEVER gave away any coffee...hehehehe.

Peace...!!!

Where on earth do you keep all this stuff G-man? Do you have another house? LOL

It's amazing, how we always keep that old stuff, even knowing that we would never ever use it again.

I love old stuff with history and I blame - my grandfather. He had a collection of old engines, railroad train parts and pretty much everything else under the sun.

I used to sit under a bench in his garage and watch him wrk. I can still smell il when I think of him.
