Retro Wednesday.....

Geez, it was a great day, I can't believe the crappy pic....
Anyway, Nowadays almost ALL golf clubs consist of a fiberglass shaft, and a titanium head. These clubs were once the 'class' of it's day. An aluminum shaft, and the best wood for quality clubs...Persimmon!!
They were good enough for Ben Hogan. In fact, these ARE Hogans!!
I have a Driver..3 Wood...5 Wood...7 Wood. Alex has my 3 Wood now.
They are from the 60's and are flawless.
I'm sure you all enjoyed this post...hahahahaha
Peace...!!!

This is the second golf post I've commented on today. Apparently, men think of golf in the spring. About all I know about golf is that you whack the hell out of a tiny ball with a club that hurts like hell if you whack yourself with it.:)

You will see a day when playing golf or bowling will be brought back from high tech... Bow hunting went from re curves to compounds with laser sights...black powder went from replicas to high tech 200+ yard weapons..People will wake up someday and find doing things the old way are quite satisfying, even if less productive!

I learned the hard way what persimmons tasted like before they were made into pies when I lived in Floyd County Indiana (8-11yo). I loved persimmon pie ... my dad and I were walking out on our 6.5 acres and dad says "there's a persimmon tree!" He mentioned they don't taste the same as when they're in a pie but didn't mention they were incredibly bitter with an aftertaste that lasted for HOURS!!! Bleeech!

Hugs the G-man all up!

I love the old persimmon wood drivers and fairway woods. I go to garage sales looking for them to refinish...

I always find good clubs in the trees.
