Retro-Wednesday.......

Hi everybody....I'm sorry I haven't been visiting you all as I should be, but Business has been off the charts lately and I've been working 8-10 hr days, 6 days a week for the last month!!!

In the late Fifties and early Sixties, one of America's favorite TV shows was "Sing Along With Mitch". He led an orchestra and an ensemble of singers, and invited the audience at home to sing along. He had the lyrics to all the songs scrolling at the bottom of the TV....

A few years back I sold a car to a retired TV station manager from Detroit. Over time we became friends and he had some marvelous stories about the early days of television. One year after I sold his daughter a car, he gave me this record with Bobby Kennedy on the sleeve. Although it was the size of a 45, it was actually a 33 1/3 rpm. He told me that this was a very rare record. It was produced by the Johnson-Humphrey-Kennedy coalition, and Bobby spoke on issues on one side, and Mitch Miller and his Gang, sang on the flip side.
A few weeks after he cut this record, Bobby was shot dead, and the rest is history!!
Ahhhhh 1968, the year I graduated, I started college, the Tigers won the pennant!!!

Turbulent but Good Times....(except for Bobby)

Peace...!!!

I vaguely remember Mitch Miller, but had no idea such a record existed. And a 33-1/3! I'll just bet you it's valuable. Wow, you have been working hard. I sense a vacation coming on.:)
