Retro Wednesday....

In 1947, The Wright & McGill fishing lure company started making split bamboo fly fishing rods.
These are mostly hand-made and are quite expensive. The first 2 pics were taken off of a web site that sells vintage rods. Of course they are in pristine condition, and it has the original tube. It sold for $925.00!!
I have the same rod, and the original tube. The only difference is that this was my Grandpa's
Rod, and he used it until about 1960. He then got a new fly rod, and gave his old one to me. Between the both of us we have caught HUNDREDS of fish with this beautiful fly-rod...
It will NEVER be sold!!!

Some things are worth more than money. Good memories certainly fall into that category. As a matter of fact, mid winter when everyone is going stir crazy, I think you take that rod out in your mind and add to that total number of fish landed.

Good times, good memories and retro Wednesdays. Who could ask for more?

Fishing. Huh. I expect you'll pass that rod down to Reese one of these days. Hope you're feeling better this morning.:)

You said, 'vintage rods.'

And Barman said, 'I think you take that rod out in your mind and add to that total number of fish landed.'

Smiling is good medicine.

Get well.

That is awesome! Nothing is more valuable than a Grandpa's fly rod or gun.

Awwww, I love that you have your grandpa's old pole and that you used it too. My family treasures stuff like that. My husband and I have several family "heirlooms" which are really not of much value to anyone but us.
