Hi everybody!!
Have you seen this guys show on the Food Channel?..Guy Fieri??
Diners..Drive-Ins..And Dives!!
He travels around the country and visits local eateries that have a mythical reputations in their community. A few weeks back he was actually in Ann Arbor visiting this local Icon...
Krazy Jims Blimpy Burger!!!
This place has been here ever since I can remember going to the Big House for Saturday football.
It's about a mile from the stadium, but on game day it's nearly impossible to get into.
They make their burgers from fresh, NEVER frozen meat. You can get all the usual toppings on it including a fried egg and grilled onions. The buns are either a Kaiser Roll or Onion Roll, and they are ALWAYS grilled. The patties are smallish, but you can get them in doubles, triples, quads, or quints. The fries are frozen, but the onion rings are to DIE for. They are very lightly breaded, and are delishishly fried to a golden brown perfection!!
As you can see, I got a triple on a Kaiser Roll with grilled onions and just ketchup, and a side of rings. I got two doubles to go for Reese, which he scarfed down immediately upon returning home. Sorry Reese, no onion rings for you...They were good to the Last Drop!! hehehehe
.
Peace..!!!

You know how I feel about onions, but I gotta say that looks yummy. I do love a good order of onion rings every now and then.:)
I watch Guy all the time. The Food Network is one of my favorite channels. That burger and onion rings looks really yummy Galen. I prefer onion rings over fries myself.
Have a beautiful day!
Onion rings are really something to die for. I put loads of crunchy them on my Biryani & Khichda. & Always on my burgers, which I make using shaami kebabs that I make at home ( that too Always from fresh unfrozen meat) !
Galen I wish you could taste my biryani ( You were already eating it in my dream, when you visited my Senselessly Constructed House; I wish I could feed it to you for reals)!
I love dives like that. They often have the best (worst health wise) food there is. I remember one joint in downtown Detroit that was awesome. The smmy were great but the sauce made it to die for. Alas that was torn down in one of the expansions of Cobo Hall. There was bar down there that I think suffered the same fate. They had the best burgers, period. You had to time it right however to make sure the grease was aged to perfection. To early and it just was not right. To late and I think theyu cleaned their grill. Boy, I am drooling right now thinking of that burger ... that and your wonderful taste feast you just shared. Next time I am to Ann Arbor I have a place too look up.
Ooooo. Looks so good. I could go for a good greasy cheeseburger right now. Yum!
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I really appreciate it. And for the compliment. I'll be sure to let all my Wisconsin sistas know. ;)

To die for hey? I'd like to die eating smoked salmon, or scallops, thank you :)
In Omaha, if you want grease, try Don and Millie's ... otherwise just come to my house and I'll fry something up for you.
