Retro Wednesday....

The year was 1964...I was in 9th grade!
If you wanted to be 'cool', you owned a pair of Flagg Brothers "Roach Killers"!
If you really wanted to be cool, you put taps on the heels...
They could hear you comming down the hall a mile away!!
I still have mine...Of course!
And you only wore them with white socks...Of Course!!
Oddly enough, the taps saved the heels from wearing down.
See...? They still fit....
Hahahaha...look these up on E-Bay Vintage Clothing.
.
Peace...!!

Noooooo! Pimp shoes?! And you're still wearing them? You truly are a packrat, G. And I thought I was bad with the shoes.:)

Oh, those are awesome, Galen. Way better than the Kaepas that were popular when I was in school. :D

Sprechen zee Dutsch? Haha! These remind me of Dutch shoes.

My friend's dad called these shoes PFC's (Puerto Rican Fence Climbers) because your toes can fit in the chain link fence easily when climbing them.

We used heel plates back in 5th-6th grade... You could go down a metal slide on your heels at Mach 2... Also sparked well at night against concrete sidewalks!

I love it! My Mother, just the other day was telling me a story about my Dad, and his shoes in high school. lol

These are the same ones she described!

Now he complains about the sound of her in her "flip-flops"

Go figure!

Great post!

I have never seen those kinds of shoes, but I do remember penny loafers and saddle shoes
