Retro-Wednesday.....

Hi everybody...Welcome to Retro-Wednesday!!
Today's offering is from the early 70's. It not only runs on batteries, but is also plays AND records 8-Track tapes. It still works just fine, and as you can see, I have ample tapes to play.
In fact, I have dozens more that I haven't shown you.
Ahhhh, I can almost tell you the exact spot in the 8-Track version of In-na-gadda-da-vida, where the program changes from program 1, to program 2....Click!!!
I hope this brings back some memories...
.
Peace...!
.
(Sorry for the grainy quality...Low-Tech ya know)

I love listening to my tapes, I have had them since I was little as my Uncle gave them to me. He collected many thousands of Vinyl records by then and so gave me some tapes. They still play so well..and at least they don't get scratched like CD's do.

ah, yes...the lovely 8-track. reminds me of my youth. we had an 8 track in our car, a portable 8 track and almost every stereo system that my parents had, w the exception of one, had a way to play 8 tracks. hey, you don't happen to have a big stereo console w reel-to-reel, do ya? lol :)

It does bring back memories. I had the huge "portable" boom box that was 8-track. I wish I still had it because it was all white and truly obnoxious. I could have put my Deep Purple in it too...

At my grandma and grandpa's cabin, there was an 8-track. One problem: there was only one 8 track to play. Which 8-track was it, you may ask ...

It was Kenny Rogers.

G-Man said...

Hi Jodie...
I bet you have not listened to Kenny since..
Back home from camp all safe and sound I see..YAY!!

You gotta know when to hold 'em ... know when to fold 'em.

I liked Kenny before he Joan Riverized his face.
