C'Mon Girl..........

For being such a beautifully Sunny day, it's not turning out so well. My son's 9 yr old Beagle has gotten pneumonia, and has been miserable now for over a week. We had her to the Vets last week, and she stayed 2 days, but things are not getting any better..So I think that I have to take the poor old girl for her final car ride today...Sorry everyone for the downer...Sorry Becky..xoxo

I'm sorry Galen ... losing pets is rough. My snakes live 12-25 years and when Rogue goes (I've had him 10 1/2 years) it's gonna be a heartbreaker.

*hugs to you*

Aw, crap, Galen. I'm really sorry. I had to do this recently and it stays with you for awhile. I always stay with mine till the very end so they have someone there they know and trust. But boy..it's a hard thing to do.

Sorry to hear about that. I hate the idea of losing a pet. I hope things changed today so you did not have to make that final ride but somehow I think not.

Soon we will be putting you down ... I am, uh, opps, uh ... hi G-man.

I hope however things turned out that you do the right thing by the pet, that is so much more important than when we feel.

I think you've made one of the toughest decisions we ever have to make. Kudos to you for knowing that quality of life is paramount.

Squirrel and I had to do this last September. Her BB went on 9/15 and my Ladd on 9/16. The vet put a blanket on the floor and I was able to lay next to him the whole time.

I'm sorry g. It sucks.

I didn't cry at my Mother's Funeral because she suffered so much..
I buried, my brother two years ago due to diabetes complications, and didn't cry..

When we left the house today, my son Reese picked up Becky and held her in the car all the way to the Vets. In the waiting room all these friskey puppies were happy and yappy, and Reese held her silently. When it was our turn to in the room, he held her on the table. Then the asst. and the Vet came in all sad and teary eyed, and asked if we were ready, the asst. took Becky into her arms, me and Reese kissed Becky good bye, and he gave her the shot...
They both said "it's OK girl", and she drifted off to sleep...Forever.
Of course all four of us were too choked up to talk, the Vet silently handed each of us a Kleenex, and ushered us out the back door, so we would not have to face the waiting room crowd.

The silent ride home, was very sad, we stopped at Tim Horton's for my usual, but today I also bought Reese a Large Ice Cap,( he always gets a medium ). I had to go to work so I pulled in the driveway and let him out..Before he got out, I gave him a big hug and told him that on this day, I have NEVER been so proud of him!!
He looked at me and gave me a small cracked little grin, and said "Thanks Dad"...

The house was sadly silent tonight when I came home....

I love every one of you all for your kind words..
Thanks again my Blogging friends....Galen

I feel so sad for you and your son... and every other family member... A dog is more than a pet... At least some are considered as more than a pet, the lucky ones who have been graced by finding real dogs owners'...
My parents aren't pet lovers a all... but when the time arrived to put down our old dog that only my brother and me were taking care of, even not being at home anymore (me at least, I'm quite sure my brother was still there) my dad called me at work, asking what to do... because he was feeling very crappy about the decision...
For me, the well being of the animal is very important, just like for humans... so, when nothing can get better, I considere it as a favor to take them in that path... No it isn't makes it easier... but at least, the pain disappears, and we can always dream of a dogs Heaven...

Galen!

I am sincerely sorry to hear this. I love animals so much.

I am so sad but I know that Becky is up in Doggie Heaven chewing on bones and running around with lots of other little doggies and having lots of fun.

I hope you are taking care of yourself and I'm sending lots of Feel Better Vibes to you and your family to help get through this time of missing your puppy.

I'm glad you posted about what was going on.

KJ says for me to blow you a kiss...

....so I'm blowing you a kiss.

I am so sorry. It really is the worst part of owning a pet. If your like me you get so attached and they are like one of the family and that just makes it all the harder. Hugs

Lisa, Could I have some cream and a squirt of honey with that?
Thanks JJ, xoxoxoxo

javajazz said...

ooh, a squirt of honey?
now you're gonna get Strumpie
going again on her quest
for the perfect squirt...
oh Strumpie, what an unusual
thing to aspire towards...
hope its not like a Sexual
Olympics kind of feat...
i have a few theories you got
me thinking about, in terms
of perhaps engineerical (sp?)
design, or even just
darned good timing in getting
the whole operation to function
according to plan...
perhaps i shall have to read
up on it before i expound on
any more made up theories...
i have a logical non academic
brain...it thinks of things....
things not neccessarily based
on fact...
in the meantime, back to
Galens request for milk
and honey...oh wait, that
was cream, baby....
coming right up.
sleep well Blog Angel...

A squirt of honey.

Hee.

Jazzy,

I'm all ears with whatever suggestions you might have.

No, I'm not in the Sexual Olympics. But, maybe if I learn how to squirt I'll be able to participate. Don't think I can beat the chick with the five-foot arc though.
