The ghost of e.e. haunts many, with a form few can equal...many are called, few know how to work the return lever.
ReplyDeleteI am playin, in winter mode:
Ice
We are so spoiled today with our computers ( I LOVE my MAC). But I DID learn on an old machine thats keys were so hard to push down and was heavy to return.
ReplyDeleteI quickly came up with a 55 a few minutes ago just for you. I took this photo and almost deleted it the other evening... glad I didn't.

You are an enigma wrapped in a riddle wrapped in a really high-fiber tortilla.
ReplyDeleteI kinda like that.
Thanks for another Friday 55!
Mine's here. :)
I have a friend who is obsessed with e.e. cummings work so this made me smile (and I will have to share this post with her though she is not a writer). Of course you know stuff, Mr. Knowitall or wouldn't you be called Mr. Knowsalittle? ;)
ReplyDeleteMy 55: Collective
FANTASTIC! this is gold, gman. and all the highfalutin critics waxing literary about the deeper meanings of weird spacing and lack of punctuation or caps...
ReplyDeletehe became famous breaking rules but in my library certain rules WILL be followed.
lol. The cynic in me wants to agree whole heartedly.
ReplyDeleteI also waxed poetic.
Mine is up
Freaking Awesome, G-Man! I love that you --- big burly, beefy, car-selling, prime-rib roasting, beer swilling, Harley coasting, green grass appreciating dude was born with the soul of a poet. Great combo!!!
ReplyDeleteold brokendown underwood, love it!
I saw Dylan Thomas' writing shed in Wales. Have you His coffee was like, real old and shit, in his cup on accounta him being dead so long and all, but it was a nice place and day that sunny May afternoon in 1999.
Take kickassingly awesome good care of your fun side this weekend, okay Galen!?!
xoxo
You know, that would explain a heck of a lot!
ReplyDeleteHere's mine: Cut-Rate
you arent in roanoke are you? i just got home from there...
ReplyDeleteNow there's a name I haven't heard in ages. Nice one.
ReplyDeleteYou'll find mine here.
He.He. :) I never even wondered what the e.e. stood for, or much about him actually because his poems are such stand outs all by themselves. It took me quite awhile to "get" him back when I studied him in school, but once I got him I loved him. I loved this 55 in his honor, G.
ReplyDeleteA sheepherder at morn
I don't know if I'm shocking or just a crass old bag who doesn't care what anyone thinks.
ReplyDeleteI wrote this bit about a little lost Lop rabbit which is far cuter than I am.
I absolutely love this one! Especially the last two lines. I never doubted that you knew stuff!! But you really shouldn't have used any caps:)
ReplyDelete(My only beef with Cummings.) I don't have anything shocking but I do have a little story for you...

ReplyDeleteLove this! Really between the Grand Marnier and the broken return lies the secret! Also I did not know his name. And what about the shift key!
ReplyDeleteI am very late, and I know you are traveling - do not feel obliged to visit. I hope you are having a very safe and fun visit and got through Ohio safely - I think that was the big bad state. Take care.
