  5. Wow! As a parent, I totally get why this might concern you.

But as a woman who wasted my entire youth hanging around within about 10 miles of where I was born, I have to applaud her sense of adventure.

Good luck straightening it all out. And welcome home.

  8. Have you ever read Jocelyn's blog? (http://omightycrisis.blogspot.com/)
She is currently living for a year in turkey with her husband and kids. You might find it interesting to hear how they are doing there.

  9. I think I'll check out secret agent woman's suggestion.
but I feel for you, although across the world it is actually a very very very old site of the origins of our civilization and still a strange and wonderful place to see....

the world is shrinking, and she will learn so much.

  10. I wouldn't have felt too swell about her living in Prague either - too close to known American-hating people.

Yes, I know they're not ALL that way - but we American's aren't all the same either - and exactly how many does it take to make you feel unsafe?

I wish only good fortune for you and yours, G-Man!

  16. Hey Dad,

We got into Istanbul this morning. It's been great so far! There's no need at all to worry. Turkish people are extremely friendly and helpful, and it's safer than most American cities (especially Flint).
    Love,
    Mandy & Sean

    PS- The food is incredible.
