Thursday Portrait.......







Once a week we go to a local Chinese takee-outee called the China Garden.
The luncheon specials are just $4.75, with 30 different combo's to choose from.
You always get pork fried rice and an egg roll, along with what ever entree you choose. Today I got the Sesame' Chicken.
They also let you substitute the egg roll for soup if you like...I like!
Especially the hot and sour soup!!
No matter what you order, or how many items you order..."Be ready TEN Minna OK"?
And another funny thing...Look at any item in front of you, pick it up, turn it upside down, does it say 'Made in China'?
These fortune cookies are made in Chicago!!! Go Figure...
Now for my fortune.."Everything will now come your way"
Lucky#'s..46,12,7,18,64, and dare I say it.....55!!!!!!!

"You sit down now and write"
"C'Mon, You write NOW"!!!
"It only take TEN minna...OK"?

    Looks great! I've been in the DC area four years and I am still looking for a good Chinese place...and eating tons of bad food to find one ain't fun. grr

    Wonder if they'd sub in rice without the pork?

    I like good Chinese food, but I rarely go to the "fast food" variants. There is one in town that has a shrimp with candied walnuts that I love.

    You are SO, oh, what do we call you? LOL And so lucky to have a good takeaway close by with those prices for all that food: wow. Wish I could go!

    We had a wonderful Chinese family in the next town with a takeaway (I adored their oldest son but my daughter wouldn't bite, dang) and it was great. Then they sold it to another owner who doesn't cook half so well and cut the portions in half. ARGH!! But now that you mention it, you're right----everything was ten minutes! LOL

    Listen to Thom, 55 minna. He's got that right. Meanwhile I LOVE your self-portraits! Good luck making that Chicago cookie fortune come true!

    I think they purposely don't speak english for the effect...:D

    A friend told us that he went in for take out and asked for a soda with his order...the counter guy says
    smmmawww awwww lawwwwwggg.

    Of course, the friend asked the guy to repeat it over and over...finally a friend behind him said...he's asking you if you want small or large soda! :D
