Tonight I'm reposting a 55 from December of 07.
Some of you may remember that my friend Ned, died at age 54 of a stroke. We were lifelong friends and college fraternity brothers. The one year anniversary of his memorial was last week, and at that service I was asked to ride Ned's Harley in the procession. His favorite niece Carry wanted to ride on Uncle Nedly's bike one last time, and it was one of the Great Honors of my life to do this for his family, and my friend. Ned's sister E-Mailed this pic yesterday, and I felt I needed to post this 55 one more time......To Ned.

My long and loyal friend
We thought that we were immortal
That the party would never end
But the years catch up to you
Time is NEVER on your side
So buckle-up, and rev it up.
For that long final ride
Soon enough brother....
We'll be riding side by side.

54's too young to die. That's so sad. But it's good that his friends gave him such a nice send-off. I think he'd have loved it -- and your 55 in his honor.

That's a great tribute to a friend. 54 is definitely too young, especially as that's my age. It's good to see he's remembered as he'd want to be.

i remember this from when you posted it. it was a wonderful tribute then as it still is. i am glad you were given the chance to honor him in such a meaningful way by riding his bike. so special to share that with his niece.
